Let me see if I’ve got this straight: All the blastocysts hangin’ with Jesus in the special pre-born section of Heaven—which, btw, I’ve been told looks remarkably like the Precious Moments section of your local Hallmark store—were yours to “save.” Since then, they’ve been just waiting for you to ask them to intercede on your behalf. Except wait, you’re Catholic, so per your theology (1) they’re not with Jesus, they’re in Limbo, since they “died” without being expunged of original sin, and (2) their lives will “come back”—you know, it’s a line in that creed you recite every Sunday? The one about the resurrection of the dead and the world to come and all?

But of course this isn’t really about theology. It isn’t really about the “unborn,” even—it’s about YOU, and how tingly it makes you to be a special hero “fighting” to “save” the “babies,” even if it’s by shaming and harming women and spreading misinformation, instead of doing the often hard, thankless work of doing some actual good in the world.

May your God look deep into your soul and reward you as you deserve.
